Job summary

RedRock Resourcing is seeking a Junior Datacenter Engineer to join a growing team at Heathrow with some travel to other sites. Eligible for SC clearance and holding a full UK driving license is required.

You will gain experience with LV electrical, HVAC and security systems, while supporting 24/7 operations. Responsibilities include maintenance of power, cooling and fire systems, troubleshooting, safety compliance, and coordinating with contractors on site.

Qualifications

• Eligible for SC Clearance and hold a full UK driving license.
• Working knowledge of LV Electrical systems, HVAC and Security Systems.
• Willingness to work on-call, weekends or holidays to support 24/7 operations.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain power (UPS, generators), cooling and fire detection/suppression systems.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues to restore operation.
• Perform daily/weekly/monthly inspections using PPM schedules and supervise external contractors.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations including OSHA and site policies.
• Use building management systems to monitor and react to changes.
• Assist clients with safe equipment placement on the data floor.
• Travel to other sites as required to support projects or staffing needs.

Location: Heathrow (with some travel to other sites as required)

A leading organisation requires a Junior Datacenter Engineer to join its growing team. Suitable candidates will have the folloiwng experience:

• Technical Expertise: Working Knowledge of critical infrastructure, including electrical systems (switchgear, generators) and HVAC systems.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot systems under pressure.
• Collaboration & Communication: Ability to work with IT, contractors, and vendors. Keeping a cool head when others don't
• Flexibility: Willingness to work on-call, weekends, or holidays to ensure 24/7 operations are met.

As mentioned above, suitable candidates will have a working knowledge of LV Electrical systems, HVAC and Security Systems.

Responsibilities will include:

• Infrastructure Maintenance: Monitor and maintain power (UPS, generators), cooling, and fire detection/suppression systems.
• Troubleshooting & Repair: Actively diagnose mechanical and electrical issues
• Preventative Maintenance: Perform daily, weekly, or monthly inspections of infrastructure using PPM Schedules. Working on site with external contractors and supervising contractors for repairs.
• Safety & Compliance: Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, including OSHA and site-specific policies.
• Monitoring & Reporting: Use building management systems (BMS) to monitor, systems and react to changes
• Project Coordination: Assist with clients onto the data floor to ensure best practice is followed in the safe racking of equipment
