Job summary

Jane Street is seeking an experienced Data Centre Engineer to maintain safe, accessible data environments across our London area and EMEA locations. The role combines hands-on work in data and colocation centres with project management to keep systems reliable and scalable.

You’ll collaborate with Network, Server, Facilities Engineering, Market Data and Trading teams, plus external operators and vendors, to design deployments, manage logistics, and ensure robust cabling and security practices

Qualifications

• There’s no fixed set of skills required for this role; we can teach you what you need to know.
• Knowledge of data centre best practices and cabling methodologies is valued.
• Willingness to travel and work evenings/weekends is expected.

Responsibilities

• Design plans for new equipment deployments using data centre best practices.
• Coordinate logistical tasks across locations, including procurement, shipping, moving and inventory of equipment, cabling and parts
• Install and configure server OS in a PXE environment (Linux knowledge is essential)
• Install, cable, configure and troubleshoot network and server hardware
• Ensure data centres uphold high standards for security, organisation, documentation, safety and supply management
