Job summary

China Mobile International UK is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support the construction, operation and maintenance of our Data Centre facilities in the UK.

The successful candidate will act as a technical authority for electrical systems, working closely with the Facility Management (FM) team and vendors to ensure safe, reliable and efficient operation of critical data centre infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline.
• CEng or IEng qualification preferred.
• Ideally 6+ years in data centre electrical operations.
• Junior candidates may be considered with lower experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership of the Facility Management team to ensure electrical operations meet standards and SLAs.
• Review and approve MOP, SOP and EOP.
• Conduct audits of maintenance activities for quality and safety compliance.
• Act as SME for complex electrical issues and lead RCA for power incidents.
• Identify SPOFs and oversee risk mitigation measures.
• Advise on high-risk activities including UPS bypass, generator load testing and HV switching.
• Review and authorize electrical system modifications and capacity expansions.
• Support long-term asset lifecycle planning, upgrades and CAPEX.
• Analyse power distribution efficiency and PUE trends.
• Ensure compliance with safety requirements including LOTO and Arc Flash.
