Job summary

Shirley Parsons is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer on a contract basis in North London for high-profile data centre and building services projects.

You will lead electrical design development, coordinate with design teams and contractors, perform calculations, prepare drawings and tender specs, and mentor junior engineers to ensure quality and deadlines. The role is outside IR35 and office-based, demanding a proactive approach and solid knowledge of British Standards.

Qualifications

• Electrical design experience for building services and data centre projects.
• Knowledge of electrical calculations and relevant British Standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site surveys, testing, and reporting on existing installations.
• Attend technical meetings with design teams and contractors.
• Perform electrical calculations using Amtech, ProDesign, or similar software.
• Prepare technical drawings and tender specifications.
• Mentor and oversee junior engineers and trainees.
