Job summary

Falcon Green Personnel is hiring an Intermediate Electrical Engineer for a flagship data centre project in London. The role focuses on developing technical and project management skills within a busy delivery team.

You will work with BIM/design teams, coordinate with site crews, review drawings, and support commissioning and handover activities on a major data centre programme.

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years' experience with electrical contractor or construction engineering environment.
  • Experience on large-scale construction projects would be advantageous.
  • Data centre, mission-critical, industrial or other technically demanding environments helpful.
  • Strong understanding of electrical construction, testing, commissioning, and technical coordination.
  • Good understanding of UK electrical regulations, standards and health & safety requirements.
  • Ability to read electrical drawings, schematics and technical documentation.
  • Excellent organisational, communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with preparation and maintenance of project engineering reports, tracking milestones and deadlines.
  • Review design documentation and IFC drawings to understand project scope and electrical requirements.
  • Assist with design coordination with BIM and design teams to align installation drawings.
  • Support site teams to deliver electrical works to quality, safety and standards.
  • Review subcontractor and supplier technical submissions for compliance with specifications.
  • Work with project, commercial, procurement and construction teams to keep activities aligned with the programme.
  • Assist with management of technical submittals, RFIs, approvals and document control.
  • Monitor electrical installation on site and ensure compliance with project specs and QA procedures.
  • Coordinate electrical subcontractors and suppliers, flagging issues to Senior Engineer/PM.
  • Attend design, technical, coordination, progress and commissioning meetings and track actions.
  • Identify technical issues and assist in developing practical solutions.
  • Assist with subcontractor and supplier tender packages alongside commercial teams.
  • Assist with quantity checks, material and equipment schedules, and procurement data.
  • Support testing and commissioning activities and record test results and issues.
  • Assist with project handover and close-out, including O&M and as-built docs.

Join one of the UK's leading data centre contractors as an Intermediate Electrical Engineer on a flagship data centre project in London. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an Intermediate Electrical Engineer to further develop their technical and project experience within the rapidly expanding London data centre and mission‑critical sector. With continued investment and a strong pipeline of projects across London and the UK, the successful candidate will gain valuable exposure to large‑scale, technically complex electrical installations and work alongside experienced engineering and project teams.

The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in electrical engineering and construction, a proactive approach, and a willingness to develop their technical and project management skills. Previous data centre experience would be beneficial, although candidates with experience in commercial, industrial, pharmaceutical, healthcare, or other large‑scale construction projects will also be considered.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with the preparation and maintenance of project engineering reports, tracking progress, technical deliverables, key milestones, and deadlines.
  • Review design documentation, IFC drawings, specifications, and technical information to develop a good understanding of the project scope and electrical requirements.
  • Assist with the design coordination process, working closely with the BIM and design teams to ensure installation drawings are coordinated and aligned with project requirements.
  • Support the site and installation teams in delivering electrical works to the required quality, safety, and technical standards.
  • Assist with reviewing subcontractor and supplier technical submissions to ensure proposed equipment and installations comply with project specifications and design requirements.
  • Work closely with the project, commercial, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams to ensure engineering activities remain aligned with the project programme.
  • Assist with the management of technical submittals, RFIs, technical queries, approvals, and document control.
  • Monitor electrical installation works on site and assist in ensuring installations comply with project specifications, UK standards, QA procedures, drawings, and commissioning requirements.
  • Assist with the coordination of electrical subcontractors and suppliers, monitoring progress and raising technical or programme issues with the Senior Engineer or Project Manager.
  • Attend design, technical, coordination, progress, and commissioning meetings and assist with tracking actions through to completion.
  • Assist in identifying technical issues, design discrepancies, and potential improvements and support the development of practical solutions.
  • Support the preparation of subcontractor and supplier tender packages alongside the commercial and quantity surveying teams.
  • Assist with quantity checks, material schedules, equipment schedules, and procurement information where required.
  • Support the project team during testing and commissioning activities, ensuring documentation, test results, and outstanding technical issues are properly recorded and managed.
  • Assist with project handover and close‑out, including O&M information, as‑built documentation, commissioning records, and outstanding defects.
Requirements
  • Ideally 2-5 years' experience working with an electrical contractor or within a construction engineering environment.
  • Experience working on large-scale construction projects would be advantageous.
  • Previous experience within data centres, mission‑critical, industrial, pharmaceutical, commercial, or other technically demanding environments would be beneficial.
  • Good understanding of electrical construction, installation, testing, commissioning, and technical coordination.
  • Good understanding of relevant UK electrical regulations, standards, specifications, and health and safety requirements.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical drawings, schematics, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities within a fast‑paced construction environment.
  • Good communication, teamwork, problem‑solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience using Navisworks and relevant engineering/project document management systems would be advantageous.
  • Familiarity with CAD/BIM environments and project planning systems such as Primavera P6 would be beneficial.
  • Ability to work effectively with Senior Engineers, Project Managers, clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, BIM teams, commercial teams, and site management.
