Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Data Centre Electrical Design Lead (Director) to provide technical leadership across planning, design and delivery of major data centre projects in the UK and Europe.

You will lead development of high-quality electrical solutions from feasibility to handover, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure resilience, buildability and performance aligned with client requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience leading electrical design on data centre or mission-critical projects.
• Strong understanding of high-voltage and low-voltage power systems and resilience.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary design delivery across project stages.
• Consultancy, contractor, developer, operator or client experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design and technical delivery of major data centre projects across the UK and Europe.
• Provide technical direction throughout feasibility, master planning, concept design, detailed design, construction support, commissioning and handover.
• Develop resilient, energy-efficient electrical strategies aligned with client needs and sustainability.
• Lead HV/LV power distribution, substations, transformers, UPS, switchgear and monitoring systems.
• Coordinate with project managers and design managers to define scope, programme and resources.
• Mentor and develop electrical engineers and design managers; share expertise across the portfolio.
