Bryden Wood in London seeks a Technical Director – Electrical Engineering to lead data centre electrical design across major projects. You will collaborate with architects, engineers, and clients to drive innovative, efficient solutions and ensure technical excellence.

The role requires a Chartered Electrical Engineer with 10+ years in data centre design, strong leadership, and a proactive approach to development and client engagement.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent and Chartered.
• Minimum of 10 years of professional experience with previous experience of delivering Data Centre projects from a design perspective.
• Deep knowledge of data centre typologies including current and emerging technologies.
• Someone who can assist with strategic team growth and contribute to wider business development strategies.
• Well organised/disciplined
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• A proactive and enthusiastic approach
• A dynamic approach to problem solving
• Willingness to learn in a dynamic environment

Responsibilities

• You will be the electrical design lead for key parts of our data centre project portfolio, working closely with other discipline leadership and clients to deliver innovative designs.
• Be a recognised leader in data centre electrical design across multiple international locations.
• Have extensive experience of working with data centre end users and/or general contractors delivering these projects.
• Demonstrate ability to oversee engineers and technicians, assign tasks, provide technical guidance, and ensure team cohesion toward project goals.
• Contribute to Board reporting and business development strategies.
• Manage project coordination, QA/QC procedures, and risk management.
• Mentor and inspire design engineers across all levels.
• Communicate effectively across all business levels.
