Job summary

Mott MacDonald seeks a Data Centre Electrical Design Lead (Director) to provide technical leadership across planning, design and delivery of major data centre projects in the UK and Europe. You will develop electrical solutions from feasibility through handover, guiding multidisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated, buildable and resilient systems.

We expect extensive experience in data centres, with strong HV/LV expertise, and a collaborative leadership style.

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading electrical design on data centre or mission-critical projects.
• Strong understanding of high- and low-voltage power systems, resilience and safety.
• Experience across concept through commissioning and handover.

Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design and technical delivery of major data centre projects across the UK and Europe.
• Provide technical direction throughout feasibility, master planning, concept design, detailed design, construction support, commissioning and handover.
• Develop resilient, energy-efficient and maintainable electrical strategies aligned with client needs.
• Lead HV/LV power distribution, substations, transformers, generators, UPS, switchgear and monitoring systems.
• Coordinate with project managers and disciplines to deliver integrated solutions.
• Mentor electrical engineers and design managers to grow capability.
• Support pursuits, proposals and technical presentations as a senior electrical specialist.
