Job summary

Our client in Manchester is seeking an Associate/Principal Electrical Design Engineer to lead major data centre projects, providing technical governance and commercial oversight.

You will mentor engineering teams, support business development, manage client relationships and drive growth of the Manchester office within a senior leadership role.

Responsibilities include leading complex electrical design, governance, and client engagement while maintaining high safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• 10+ years' experience within an engineering design consultancy environment.
• Strong background delivering complex electrical design projects within multi-disciplinary teams.
• Extensive knowledge of Electrical Design, MEP coordination and BIM environments.
• Demonstrable experience generating annual fee income between £250k and £750k+.

Responsibilities

• Lead major electrical design projects across data centre schemes with technical governance and commercial oversight.
• Mentor and develop engineers at all levels and support recruitment/succession planning.
• Support business development activities and manage client relationships across multiple projects.
• Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations and health & safety requirements.
