Job summary

365 Recruitment is seeking an experienced senior data centre leader for London/M25 sites. You will oversee a 24/7 team of critical facilities engineers and assume HV/AP responsibilities for HV/LV networks.

The role covers maintenance, safety and incident response, plus commissioning support for new halls and sites. A strong background in electrical engineering and data centre operations is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in live data centre or similar 24/7 critical environment.
• HV/AP appointment or near qualification is essential.
• Strong HV/LV electrical knowledge across UPS, generators, switchgear and cooling.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of critical facilities and shift engineers on a 24/7 site.
• Own MV/HV switching, shutdowns and isolations and write procedures.
• Manage budgets, vendor performance and capital projects.
• Lead incident response, RCA investigations and customer reviews.
• Support new halls/sites via commissioning and readiness.

London, M25 and Thames Valley | £80,000 to £105,000 plus bonus and benefits | Permanent, site-based

Are you the engineer who keeps the lights on when it matters most?

I’m working with leading colocation and hyperscale data centre operators across London and the M25, who are looking for senior engineering leaders to run critical facilities on live and newly mobilised sites. UK data centre capacity is set to grow several times over by 2030, and these businesses need people who can lead it safely.

What you’ll be doing

• Leading a team of critical facilities and shift engineers on a 24/7 site


• Acting as Senior Authorised Person or High Voltage Authorised Person for the HV/LV network


• Writing, reviewing and leading method statements, emergency procedures and operating procedures for complex switching, shutdowns and isolations


• Owning planned maintenance, vendor and contractor performance, and capital and operating budgets


• Taking the lead during incidents, root cause investigations and customer-facing reviews


• Supporting new halls and sites through commissioning and operational readiness

What you’ll need

• Experience in a live data centre or similar 24/7 critical environment


• Senior Authorised Person or High Voltage Authorised Person appointment (or close to it)


• Strong HV/LV electrical knowledge across UPS, generators, switchgear and cooling


• Experience leading engineering teams and managing contractors


• A calm head under pressure, and high standards for safety

Nice to have

• Experience mobilising or commissioning new data centres


• An HNC/HND or degree in electrical engineering, plus IOSH or NEBOSH


• Experience with CMMS, BMS or EPMS platforms
