Data Center Technician — On-Call Support

Job summary

Amazon Data Services UK Limited is seeking a Data Centre Technician to join the UK team. You will become the primary resolver for your site’s support group, troubleshoot infra hardware, and document SOPs for junior staff while maintaining security and safety procedures.

You will work a Monday–Friday schedule with on-call rotations, possible 12‑hour shifts, and up to 10% travel as required to support AWS data centers across the Thames Valley region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Experience in computer networking.
• Experience working with Linux operating systems.
• Can lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds.
• Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting of facility and rack-level events within internal SLAs.
• Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures.
• Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to while performing work.
• Respond to off hour emergency calls per on call rotation.
• Fully comply with all physical security procedures and policies.
• Must be commutable to the Thames Valley Region.
