Job summary

Amazon.com, Inc. seeks a Data Centre Technician to join AWS Infrastructure Services in Swindon. You will be the primary resolver for support teams, troubleshooting Linux-based servers, XEN virtualization issues, and rack-level hardware problems across data centers.

Expect 24/7 shift coverage, including 12-hour shifts and potential travel up to 10%. You will document SOPs, participate in small to mid-scale projects, and mentor junior technicians while maintaining safety procedures and high system

Qualifications

• Experience in computer networking.
• Experience working with Linux operating systems.
• Can lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds.
• Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair, and working in confined spaces while following safety guidelines.
• Experience dealing with customers during problem resolution and working under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot facility and rack-level issues within SLAs.
• Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures.
• Respond to off-hours emergency calls during on-call rotations.
• Install and configure racks of hosts per internal SLAs.
• Coordinate with vendors and technicians to replace faulty parts.
