Job Title: Data Cabling Technician

CBRE Global Workplace Solutions is a leading global provider of integrated facilities and corporate real estate management. We are recruiting a Cable Installer/Team Leader to join our team based in Birmingham.

Purpose of the Job

In this role, you will work as a Team Leader within the Mains Services team, installing all temporary IT services in preparation for live events and exhibitions around the National Exhibition Centre. You will operate in a dynamic environment, demonstrating excellent Health and Safety awareness and professional communication with colleagues and customers. All services are required to be 'pulled in', tested, and 'pulled out' after each event or exhibition, within challenging timescales.

You will lead the delivery of event services, working as part of a wider team to ensure their timely completion across the venue. You will also familiarize yourself with other areas of the Technical Events Team to prepare the site for events and exhibitions.

This role requires a flexible approach and positive attitude, including flexible shift patterns on an 'Annualised Hours' Contract.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Planning
    a) Demonstrate reliability, excellent planning, and organizational skills.
    b) Ability to work under pressure and meet challenging deadlines.
  2. Financial
    a) Document and report on asset condition, recommending upgrades and repairs.
    b) Manage consumable stores diligently to prevent waste.
  3. Administration
    a) Ensure all tasks are documented according to CBRE Managed Services procedures, using paper forms and electronic software.
    b) Proficiency in computer literacy is essential for inputting records into site-specific programs.
  4. Compliance
    Ensure all work complies with CBRE Managed Services policies and procedures.
  5. Health & Safety
    a) Follow Method Statements and Risk Assessments for all tasks.
    b) Maintain a safe and healthy working environment, complying with all company and client policies.
  6. General
    a) Present a professional image of CBRE Managed Services to clients and visitors, delivering excellent customer service.
    b) Maintain professional and technical skills through ongoing personal development.
    c) Perform additional tasks as requested by the Technical Events Manager and Supervisors, including assisting other areas of the contract.
Skills and Experience (Desirable)
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels.
  • Organized and disciplined approach, with attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Fork-Lift Driving Licence.
Accountabilities

Accountable to the Technical Events Team Supervisor.
