Job description

SLG is a design-led international beauty company, creating, manufacturing, and distributing some of the high street's most innovative beauty and male grooming brands.

About the role:

Reporting to the Head of Business Systems, you'll play a key role in supporting and developing the systems that keep our business running. You'll gain hands‑on experience with ERP systems, Power BI, SQL, automation tools, AI technologies and in‑house applications while working alongside experienced colleagues and external technology partners.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for technology, data and problem‑solving who is eager to learn and develop in a supportive environment. As your skills grow, you'll take on greater responsibility, contribute to business‑critical projects, and have the opportunity to make a real impact.

What you'll be doing:
  • Provide first-line support for business systems, investigating issues and escalating where appropriate.

  • Assist with the administration, maintenance and testing of our ERP system.

  • Use SQL to support data analysis, troubleshoot issues and improve data quality.

  • Develop and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards.

  • Identify opportunities to improve processes through automation using tools such as Power Automate, Python and AI.

  • Monitor and support system integrations, assisting with testing and implementation.

  • Support business systems projects, including upgrades, testing, documentation and user acceptance testing.

  • Gather user requirements and contribute to the development of in‑house applications.

  • Maintain system documentation and help deliver user training and guidance.

About you:

We're looking for someone who is curious, analytical and keen to build a career in business systems.

You'll ideally have:
  • A genuine interest in business systems, data, reporting and technology.

  • A basic understanding of databases and SQL through study, work experience or personal projects.

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.

  • Good Microsoft 365 skills and the ability to communicate with both technical and non‑technical colleagues.

It would be an advantage if you have experience with any of the following, although none are essential:
  • ERP systems or other business applications.

  • Power BI or similar reporting tools.

  • XML, CSV, APIs, integrations, Power Automate or Python.

  • Providing user support or working with third‑party software providers.

What we're looking for:
  • A willingness to learn and develop new technical skills.

  • Strong problem‑solving and analytical thinking.

  • An interest in improving business processes through technology.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork.

  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage priorities.

  • A positive, adaptable approach and enthusiasm for continuous learning.

Entry requirements:
Standard entry:
  • Level 3 qualification (apprenticeship/A-levels/BTEC, etc)

  • OR equivalent work experience (typically two years in a relevant role)

Plus:
  • 5 GCSEs, including English and Maths at Grade 4 (C) or above

  • Experience with using Excel (in particular pivot tables and XLookup) and Microsoft products (or similar)

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.
