Job summary

The University of Bath is seeking a data analyst to turn people data into actionable insights using Excel and Power BI. You will report to the Deputy Director of Workforce Development within HR and contribute to the REF 2029 submission through data-driven storytelling.

Ideal candidates will have advanced Excel and Power BI skills, strong data analysis capabilities, and the ability to translate complex datasets into clear guidance for diverse audiences.

Qualifications

• Degree-level qualification in a relevant discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• Advanced Excel skills including data manipulation, analysis and reporting.
• Experience of using Power BI to develop reports, dashboards and visualisations.
• Experience of analysing and interpreting data to identify trends, patterns and opportunities for improvement.
• The ability to present complex information in a clear and accessible way for a range of audiences.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a methodical approach to data quality and accuracy.
• Experience of working with multiple data sources and managing large datasets.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships.
• The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outputs to agreed timescales.
• A commitment to collaborative working and continuous learning.

Responsibilities

• Help understand people data to inform decisions and insights.
• Use Power BI to develop reports, dashboards and visualisations.
• Support HR Management Information Team in data quality improvements.
• Embed in the Workforce Development projects for REF 2029.
• Present findings to stakeholders in accessible ways.
