Job summary

Education Authority seeks an Assistant Principal Officer - Data Services to evaluate EA’s data acquisition and exchange processes, and to identify opportunities to streamline data work across sites.

You will develop or improve database processes, use analytics to identify trends, and advise on technical developments to boost efficiency and decision making. Strong BI and stakeholder skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (QCF Level 6) or equivalent in a related area and two years’ relevant experience OR five years’ relevant experience.
• Experience delivering analysis to support decision making and working with stakeholders to understand information needs.
• Demonstrable experience with structured datasets, querying, transformation and validation using SQL.
• Experience developing dashboards or reports using BI tools such as Power BI, Oracle Analytics Server, Tableau or Qlik.
• Ability to present findings clearly to non-technical audiences and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Interpret data, analyse results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports.
• Develop and implement data collection systems, analytics and other strategies to optimise efficiency and quality.
• Identify trends, bottlenecks and opportunities to improve data use and decision making.
• Lead reviews of Data Services processes and develop optimization strategies in line with EA policy and governance.
