Job summary

BT Group is seeking a Data & AI Governance Specialist to embed governance practices across BT’s large, complex organisation. You will work with senior stakeholders to apply governance frameworks, ensure regulatory compliance and drive governance maturity across both customer-facing and corporate units.

You’ll lead governance forums, prepare executive briefings, and help shape the governance agenda. This role offers hybrid working across London, Birmingham or Bristol and opportunities to impact

Qualifications

• Proven experience in Data Governance, Information Governance, Data Management or Governance Risk & Compliance environments.
• Strong understanding of Data Governance frameworks, policies, controls and operating models.
• Experience with regulations and compliance such as GDPR, EU AI Act, Ofcom or similar regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent stakeholder management and ability to influence across multiple business areas.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary Data & AI Governance contact for BT units, supporting adoption of governance policies, standards and frameworks.
• Partner with data owners, stakeholders and engineering teams to embed governance controls.
• Lead and coordinate Data & AI Governance Working Groups.
• Prepare governance reporting, risk updates and executive briefings for senior stakeholders.
