Job summary

Johnstons of Elgin in Scotland is seeking a Darner to join our luxury textile team. You will perform table, perch, and hand darning on high-quality products, applying careful fault correction and precise hand sewing techniques to ensure a superior finish.

Full training will be provided; candidates should have keen attention to detail, good colour vision, and the ability to follow written instructions. The role offers 34 hours per week on a night-shift pattern with a starting rate of £13.45 per

  • Work as part of the stitching team with full training provided.

Job description

Job Title: Darner

We have an exciting opportunity for an employee interest in a career as a Darner.

This is a permanent position working 34 hours on the following shift pattern:

Sunday: 22:00 - 06:00

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday: 00:00 - 06:00

Thursday: 22:00 - 06:00

Rate of pay starts at £13.45 per hour. You will also receive night shift allowance.

About the Role

As a Darner, you will work on a variety of luxury products, carrying out table, perch, and clean darning. You will demonstrate an excellent ability to identify and correct faults through keen attention to detail, ensuring a high-quality finish. This will involve using hand sewing techniques and problem-solving skills to rectify faults identified during the inspection of cloth and accessory products.

Full training will be provided.
