Job summary

Gentoo Group Limited in Sunderland is hiring a Maintenance Surveyor to join the Damp and Mould team. You will investigate reports of damp and mould, identify root causes, and propose cost‑effective repairs in line with Awaab’s Law, helping keep our homes safe, warm and affordable.

The role is based on a standard 36‑hour week, Mon–Fri, with occasional overtime and a flexible, hybrid working arrangement. A full UK driving licence and basic DBS clearance are required; training on IT systems and

Qualifications

• Excellent literacy, numeracy and IT skills.
• Experience with building and planning regulations is essential.
• Ability to work in internal and external environments.
• Planning and coordinating work with strong organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out detailed property inspections focused on damp and mould, identifying causes and recommending repairs.
• Provide guidance to customers and raise maintenance works orders.
• Identify asbestos-containing materials and coordinate survey requests; analyse results.
• Maintain accurate paperwork and reporting, including trend analysis.
