Job summary

Liverpool City Council's Children and Young People’s Services is seeking a Performance and Intelligence Manager to lead analytics, performance reporting, and data insights across CYPS. You will develop analytical products and support evidence-based decision making for senior leaders.

The role focuses on managing a skilled Performance and Intelligence team, applying data, AI and digital strategies, and aligning with council data initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experience in leading analytics or business intelligence teams is advantageous.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead on the development of analysis and analytical products for the CYPS Directorate, producing and presenting high‑quality insight, analysis and reporting that drives better outcomes for children and young people.
• Manage and develop a skilled Performance and Intelligence team, shaping innovative approaches to using data, digital technology and AI for improved analysis and in line with the Council’s emerging Digital and Data strategies.
• Support senior leaders, elected members and partners to establish performance frameworks, target‑setting arrangements and evidence‑based decision making across services.
• Drive continuous improvement through intelligence, interactive reporting, and data‑quality helping deliver real‑time performance improvement and strategic change across Children’s Services as well as bringing together service, finance and HR data to provide a holistic picture of our impact.
• It will be advantageous to have a good understand and experience in Children and Young People’s Services, in relation to processes, legislation and frameworks.
