Job summary

Evans Cycles in Brighton is seeking a Cycle Technician to join our workshop team. You will perform high-quality repairs, service bikes, and conduct safety checks to keep customers riding confidently.

You will assemble new bikes to manufacturer guidelines, diagnose issues, and advise customers on parts and upgrades. The role requires strong knowledge of bike components, good communication, and the ability to work evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

  • Experience repairing a wide range of bike types and components.
  • Strong knowledge of bicycle brands, models, and components.
  • Detail-focused with a commitment to quality and safety.
  • Confident communicator with great customer service skills.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Physically able to lift bikes and stay on feet for long periods.
  • Flexible to work evenings and weekends in line with store hours.

Responsibilities

  • Carrying out a wide range of bicycle repairs including brake adjustments, gear tuning, wheel truing, drivetrain maintenance, and suspension servicing.
  • Assembling new bicycles to manufacturer guidelines and ensuring they're safe and ready for sale.

  • Supporting customers in selecting the right parts, upgrades, and accessories for their bikes.

  • Organising the workshop, managing spare parts, tools, and stock efficiently.
  • Delivering excellent customer service - explaining repairs, offering advice, and ensuring every rider leaves confident in their bike.

Job Description

What You'll Be Doing

Carrying out a wide range of bicycle repairs including brake adjustments, gear tuning, wheel truing, drivetrain maintenance, and suspension servicing.

Assembling new bicycles to manufacturer guidelines and ensuring they're safe and ready for sale.

Qualifications

About You

Skilled in bicycle mechanics, with experience repairing a wide range of bike types and components.

Previous workshop experience as a mechanic/technician is highly desirable.

Strong knowledge of bicycle brands, models, and components.

Detail-focused with a commitment to quality and safety.

Confident communicator with great customer service skills.

Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Physically able to work on your feet and lift bikes when needed.

Flexible to work evenings and weekends in line with store hours.
