Role Overview:

The Security Operations Centre - Assistant Manager will be responsible for planning, designing, building, and maintaining SOC and Next-Generation SOC services, primarily serving government clients. You will work within a team of specialists, advising on complex strategic issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support security operations projects and workstreams, collaborating with Partners, Directors, and Senior Managers.
  • Plan and manage project deliverables, timelines, and resources.
  • Provide insights on security operations capabilities and services.
  • Build and maintain client relationships.
  • Contribute to the development of security propositions and assets, with a focus on National Security.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Technical background with experience in a Security Operations Centre (SOC).
  • Knowledge of SOC tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR, and threat intelligence platforms.
  • Experience assessing SOC maturity, managing SOC services, and implementing improvements.
  • Ability to leverage technology to solve client issues and optimize security operations.
  • Support the development of security operating models.
  • Must hold SC Clearance due to the nature of work.

Desirable Skills and Extras:

  • Experience managing teams and complex projects.
  • Proven career progression in consulting or industry.
  • Degree in Information Security, IT, or STEM subjects; MSc preferred.
  • Relevant cybersecurity certifications.

Location and Travel:

This position is primarily based in the Southwest of England, with weekly site visits required within the area.
