Cyber Security Manager

Our manufacturing client is seeking a highly skilled and proactive Cyber Security Manager to lead their cybersecurity efforts within a fast-paced manufacturing and engineering environment. You will be responsible for protecting critical assets, networks, and data against cyber threats while managing a small team of security professionals and overseeing outsourced service providers. This role demands a strategic thinker with hands-on expertise in cybersecurity, compliance, and risk management.
What you will be doing
- Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop a small team of cybersecurity specialists, fostering collaboration and enhancing team performance.
- Strategy: Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of the IT strategy by offering security advice and creating security policies to enable business objectives.
- Incident Management: Lead the response to security incidents, ensuring effective investigation, containment, and resolution.
- Threat Analysis: Conduct vulnerability analysis and penetration tests using a combination of in-house tooling and external resources to identify, evaluate, and mitigate potential threats.
- Policy Development: Refresh existing and develop new cybersecurity policies, procedures, and standards.
- Training and Awareness: Oversee the design and execution of employee security training programs.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Enterprise Architect, Service Desk, Infrastructure teams, and other resolver groups to safeguard operational technology (OT) and IT systems.
- Technology Management: Evaluate and implement technologies for monitoring, detection, and prevention of cyber threats.
- Reporting: Provide regular updates and recommendations to the Director of IT on security posture, risks, and incident responses.
What you will need
- Certifications: Industry-recognized certifications (CISSP, CISM, CEH, etc.).
- Experience: Minimum 5-8 years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of firewalls, intrusion detection systems, endpoint protection, risk management, and familiarity with manufacturing-specific systems (SCADA, ICS) is advantageous.
- Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team effectively, with excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Problem-Solving: Analytical mindset with the ability to assess complex issues and provide clear, actionable solutions.
- Adaptability: Proven ability to adapt to the unique challenges of securing both IT and OT systems in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in MOD-related projects: Proven experience in cybersecurity roles focused on MOD standards and policies.
- Vulnerability Assessments: Experience in conducting vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.
