Who We Are

Sheffield Forgemasters is an iconic steel production and engineering company. A global leader in the designing, manufacturing and delivering of world-class steel forgings and castings.

The acquisition has secured our role as a critical supplier to the next generation of UK defence programmes. As part of this programme of work our plant and equipment will be modernised over the next 10 years, creating new opportunities for the business and our colleagues.

Based at our 64-acre site, sitting in the heart of Sheffield, we are looking for a Cyber Security Manager. This role will involve leading the cyber security efforts within a fast-paced manufacturing and engineering environment.

Role Responsibilities

• Protecting critical assets, networks, and data against cyber threats.

• Managing a small team of security professionals and 3rd party relationships.

• Supporting the development, implementation and maintenance of the IT strategy by offering security advice and creation of a security policy.

• Leading the response to security incidents, ensuring effective investigation, containment, and resolution to a successful outcome.

• Using a combination of in-house tooling and external resources, conduct vulnerability analysis, and penetration tests to identify, evaluate, and mitigate potential threats.

• Refresh existing, and where required, author robust cyber security policies, procedures, and standards for the organisation.

• Overseeing the design and execution of employee security training programs.

• Work closely with the Enterprise Architect, Service Desk, Infrastructure teams and other resolver groups to safeguard operational technology and IT systems.

• Ensure adherence to industry standards and regulations.

• Evaluate and implement technologies for monitoring, detection, and prevention of cyber threats.

• Provide regular updates and recommendations to the IT Director on security, risks, and incident responses.

About You

The following relevant skills, knowledge and experience are required.

• A degree in Cyber Security, Information Technology, or a related field.

• Hands-on experience in cyber security, with supervisory experience.

• Industry-recognised certifications, e.g. CISSP.

• Strong understanding of firewalls, intrusion detection systems, endpoint protection, and risk management.

• Ability to lead and manage a team effectively.

• Experience in conducting vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.

Days/Hours of Work

37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday, with flexible start and finish time between 06:15 - 09:30 and 14:30 - 18:00
