Job summary

Serco NorthLink Ferries seeks a Customer Service Assistant at Stromness, Orkney (KW14 7UJ). This full-time role (35 hours per week) supports customers across phone, email, web and in person to plan and manage journeys, helping keep Scotland's island and mainland transport network connected.

You will handle reservations, process bookings, assist with check-in and boarding, and uphold a high standard of service across all touchpoints, with opportunities for growth within the team.

Qualifications

• Previous customer service experience is desirable.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Confident with using computer systems and phones.

Responsibilities

• Handle customer enquiries and reservations by telephone, email, web-based channels and in person.
• Process bookings and payments accurately and efficiently.
• Support passenger check-in and boarding activities.
• Deliver a high standard of customer service across all touchpoints.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to support the department's day-to-day operations.
• Follow health, safety and environment procedures.
