Job summary

EH Smith Group in Birmingham Central is seeking a Customer Service Operative/Van Driver to join our team at the Brighton Road branch. This combined role supports customers while handling deliveries, stock control and related duties to keep projects moving.

We value a pro-active approach, excellent communication and organisation. The successful candidate will work with colleagues, local builders and suppliers, manage workload, and hold a Full UK Driving Licence for Van Driver duties.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with stock handling and sale of heavyside building materials.
• Full UK Driving Licence required for van duties.

Customer Service Operative/Van Driver , Birmingham Central

We have a great opportunity for a Customer Service Operative/Van Driver to join the team at our Birmingham Central branch.

Person & Skills

Essential to the position is the ability to plan, organise and manage the workload to ensure the highest standard of service to customers. The successful candidate will have a pro-active approach to customer service, and therefore excellent communication and organisation skills are essential.

They will also need to be familiar with all aspects of stock handling and ideally have experience selling heavyside building materials. The ability to build relationships with colleagues, local builders, contractors and suppliers are also key to the role.

The successful candidate will need to hold a Full UK Driving Licence as the role will also include Van Driver duties.

• Awareness of new sales opportunities


• Counter stock maintenance/layout/stock take procedure


• Serving customers and picking orders


• Loading and unloading HGV and customer's vehicles


• Stock rotation maintenance

• Delivering a first class customer service


• Driving Van/Tipper in accordance with the delivery schedule
