Job summary

Vertu SEAT Darlington is offering a Customer Service Apprentice role. You will undertake a 15-month Customer Service Level 3 Apprenticeship delivered by an external provider, supported by our Internal Talent Team, gaining hands-on experience in a busy dealership while working toward a nationally recognised qualification.

You don’t need automotive experience; what matters is attitude, enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.

Qualifications

• No automotive experience required; attitude, enthusiasm and willingness to learn are key.
• Strong customer service mindset and desire to help customers.
• Good IT, literacy and numeracy basics helpful.

Responsibilities

• Welcoming customers and being the friendly first point of contact.
• Help customers understand servicing and repair processes.
• Keep customers updated on progress of their vehicle.
• Explain information clearly and confidently.
• Contact customers before appointments to confirm requirements.
• Follow up with customers after their visit.
• Process payments and complete paperwork accurately.
• Keep customer and vehicle information up to date in systems.
• Introduce customers to additional products and services where appropriate.
• Support the wider Service team to ensure a great customer experience.
• Complete apprenticeship training and apply learning in practice.

Due to continued business growth, we have an exciting opportunity for a Customer Service Apprentice to join our team at Vertu SEAT Darlington.

As part of your role, you’ll complete a 15-month Customer Service Level 3 Apprenticeship, delivered by an external training provider and supported by our Internal Talent Team. You’ll gain valuable hands‑on experience while working towards a nationally recognised qualification and developing skills that can help you build a long‑term career in customer service and the automotive industry.

What will you be doing?

Working alongside our experienced Service team, you’ll learn how to provide an excellent experience for our customers from the moment they contact or visit the dealership.

Your role will include:

• Welcoming customers and being a friendly and professional first point of contact.
• Helping customers understand the servicing and repair process.
• Keeping customers updated on the progress of their vehicle.
• Explaining information clearly and confidently.
• Contacting customers before appointments to confirm their requirements.
• Following up with customers after their visit.
