Job summary

Bob & Berts in Dumfries is hiring a friendly Counter Assistant to greet customers, take orders, process payments and keep the counter clean and well stocked.

The role is part-time with weekend and early-morning shifts. You will work as the first point of contact, delivering a positive customer experience and supporting the team during busy periods.

Previous retail or food-service experience is welcome but not essential; right to work in the UK is required.

Qualifications

• Basic numeracy for cash handling and POS.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers, take orders, and handle inquiries with a positive attitude.
• Prepare or serve food and beverages and package takeaways quickly.
• Operate the till/POS system and provide accurate change and receipts.
• Maintain hygiene and cleanliness at the counter and serving area.
• Replenish stock and support restocking of self-serve stations.
• Collaborate with kitchen and front-of-house staff during busy periods.
