Job summary

Sainsbury's is seeking a Customer Delivery Driver to bring groceries straight to customers’ doors, delivering with energy, warmth and care. You’ll operate a 3.5 tonne refrigerated van, follow planned routes and keep customers informed about any order changes or delays.

On busy days you may support store tasks, contributing to a smooth, friendly shopping experience across our local communities. A full UK/EU driving licence and 12 months’ experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Customer-focused approach to doorstep delivery.
• Ability to drive a large van safely in varied locations.
• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment.
• Good initiative, problem solving and decision making on the road.
• Able to work independently and as part of a store team.
• Willing to learn new routes and tech tools.

Responsibilities

• Be the face of Sainsbury’s delivering groceries to customers’ doors.
• Drive a 3.5 tonne refrigerated van and ensure on-time, healthy deliveries.
• Check van roadworthiness, cleanliness and secure customer orders.
• Follow planned routes and drive safely in all conditions.
• Move and unload containers up to 15kg to customer properties.
• Communicate with customers and address order changes or delays.
• Assist in-store tasks when not out on deliveries.
