Job summary

Farm Boy is hiring for a customer-focused role at our Alderwood store. You will provide warm, attentive service at the checkout, assist customers with questions, and help keep the store tidy and organized.

You’ll handle transactions with accuracy, learn product codes, and support daily store operations to ensure a smooth shopping experience. The role requires reliability, strong math skills, and a collaborative attitude.

Qualifications

• A genuine passion for delivering engaging and exceptional customer service.
• Retail experience is asset; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
• For locations selling alcohol: Smart Serve certification (or willingness to complete).
• Ability to work independently with attention to detail and pride in delivering quality results and maintaining cleanliness standards.
• A collaborative, team-oriented approach supported by strong communication and organizational skills.
• Strong mathematical ability with a high degree of accuracy when processing transactions and handling tenders.
• Thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on setting with multiple deadlines, standing, heavy lifting, and variable conditions.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Fluency in English; French language skills considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Deliver warm, confident, and engaging customer service at the checkout.
• Greet and assist customers while processing purchases accurately and efficiently.
• Share product knowledge and assist with questions and information.
• Apply product codes quickly to ensure timely checkout service.
• Handle cash and tender transactions with accuracy and balance tills.
• Support store operations and answer incoming calls as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in front-of-store and back stock areas.
