Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance checks.
  • Stage new network equipment on Juniper and Cisco switches.
  • Stage & build Cisco phones.
  • Conduct Cisco and Juniper system maintenance.
  • Perform network patching.
  • Assist with fault-finding.
  • Manage stock control and asset management.

Function: Field Engineering

Location: 30-minute commutable distance primarily to Heathrow (daily), Monday - Friday.

Mandatory requirements: 5-year checkable work history (critical for Airside access), ability to pass a criminal record check, and UK Manual Driving License.

Why this job matters

In this Customer Engineer role, you'll maintain and support our contract with British Airways (IAG) for Data & Voice network services at Heathrow. You'll be part of a team of 20 engineers at Heathrow Airport with diverse skills and responsibilities. Your primary role will involve responding to reported incidents such as voice telephone faults on Cisco phones.

You will be on-site daily at Heathrow (08:00 - 16:00), with occasional tasks at London City and Gatwick airports, as well as data centres across London. If a dynamic environment excites you, this is the role for you. It is a technical, hands-on position requiring occasional out-of-hours work, for which overtime will be compensated.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Preventive maintenance checks
  2. Staging new network equipment on Juniper and Cisco switches
  3. Staging & building Cisco phones
  4. Cisco and Juniper system maintenance
  5. Network patching
  6. Assist with fault-finding
  7. Stock Control and Asset Management

There is an opportunity to develop and qualify for CCST & CCNA certifications.
