About the role

As one of our Installation Specialists based in one of our Customer Delivery Hubs, you'll have the unique opportunity to bring our distinctive John Lewis service right to our customers' doors and install the products they love into their homes (such as furniture, kitchen appliances, sound systems, and TV sets) as part of a two-person delivery crew.

Roles Available: Customer Delivery Hub Driver - Driver Trainee, Installer & Technician

Position: Permanent

Location: Magna Park 3 CDH (Milton Keynes)

Salary: Starting rates for a Customer Delivery Hub include £28,646 (Annual) for Driver Trainee, £32,149 (Annual) for Installer, and £34,353 (Annual) for Technician roles.

Please note: All applicants must be over 18 due to role requirements.

Driver Trainee Responsibilities:

• Complete the 12-month Customer Delivery Driver Trainee programme to become a qualified John Lewis Customer Delivery Installer.
• Provide excellent customer service, representing the John Lewis brand.
• Assist in loading deliveries and collaborate with the warehouse team.
• Respect customer homes and handle unexpected situations professionally.
• Install products efficiently and demonstrate their use.
• Stay updated on new products and technologies.
• Maintain a safe working environment.

Note: This role involves heavy lifting of large items such as sofas, white goods, and furniture.

Essential Skills/Experience for Driver Trainee:

• UK B-Category manual driving licence with no more than 6 points.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Interest in technology and installation.

Desirable Skills/Experience:

• Previous installation and delivery experience.

Driver Installer Responsibilities:

• Represent the John Lewis brand with excellent customer service.
• Load your vehicle with deliveries, working with the warehouse team.
• Respect customer homes and resolve issues effectively.
• Install products efficiently and demonstrate their operation.
• Keep up-to-date with new products and technologies.
• Ensure a safe working environment.

Heavy lifting is involved in this role.

Essential Skills/Experience for Driver Installer:

• Manual C1 UK driving licence (max 6 points).
• DCPC and Tachograph Card.
• Experience driving a 7.5-tonne vehicle.
• Customer-facing experience.
• Strong communication skills.
• Good understanding of technology.

Desirable Skills/Experience:

• Experience with electrical and furniture product installation.
• TV installation experience.
• Assembly of flat packs.

Driver Technician Responsibilities:

• Represent the John Lewis brand with superior customer service.
• Coach and develop colleagues.
• Load deliveries and work with the warehouse team.
• Respect customer homes and resolve issues.
• Install various products, including wall-mounted TVs and integrated appliances.
• Stay updated on new products and technologies.
• Maintain safety standards.

Heavy lifting is involved in this role.
