Job summary

Sainsbury's is seeking a Customer Delivery Driver in Taunton to bring groceries to customers’ doorsteps with care and efficiency. You will drive a 3.5 tonne refrigerated van, perform safety and vehicle checks, and ensure orders arrive in excellent condition while maintaining exceptional customer service.

The role requires a full UK driving licence, 18+ years old, and the ability to work flexibly including store support when not delivering. A focus on safety and customer satisfaction is key.

Qualifications

• Must be over 18 and hold a full UK driving licence with no more than 6 points.
• You will complete an online driving risk assessment as part of the interview.
• Must have Right to Work eligibility in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Being the face of Sainsbury’s at every doorstep you deliver to, making customers feel valued through a thoughtful, friendly service.
• Drive a 3.5 tonne refrigerated van to deliver groceries on time and in great condition.
• Carry out checks to ensure the van is roadworthy, clean and organized, and that customers’ shopping is secure.
• Follow planned routes and drive safely in varied locations and weather conditions.
• Move containers up to 15kg and deliver to properties including steps or lifts.
• Communicate effectively with customers, informing them of delays and handling queries.
• When not delivering, assist across the store as needed.
