About the role:
A specialist SEND school in Bradford is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Curriculum Support Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis from September, with the potential for the role to become permanent for the right candidate. The school supports pupils with SLD and PMLD, providing a nurturing and highly personalised learning environment where every child is encouraged to develop academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:
- Support teachers in delivering engaging, adapted, and accessible lessons tailored to the individual needs of pupils with SLD and PMLD.
- Assist with the preparation and delivery of sensory-based and practical learning activities that promote engagement and participation.
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to help pupils access the curriculum and achieve their learning objectives.
- Encourage the development of communication, independence, social skills, and confidence through positive interactions and structured support.
- Support pupils with personal care, mobility, feeding, and medical needs where required, following individual care plans and school procedures.
- Help create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that promotes wellbeing and positive learning experiences.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to ensure pupils receive consistent and effective support.
Pre-requisites:
- Experience working with children or young people in an education, care, support, or SEND setting.
- An understanding of SLD, PMLD, or other complex learning needs and a willingness to adapt. support to meet individual requirements.
- Confidence supporting learning through practical, sensory, and communication-based approaches.
- A patient, caring, and resilient nature, with a genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, Health and Social Care, Childcare, or equivalent experience are desirable but not essential.
