Job summary

City of Doncaster Council is seeking a Culture Services Officer for its libraries, museums and heritage sites. You will be the first point of contact, delivering information and resources to visitors while engaging them with arts and heritage activities.

You will also perform Fire Warden duties and uphold health and safety standards across peak times and quieter periods.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a front-facing role with the public.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Positive, proactive approach to work and safety.

Responsibilities

Based at: Danum Gallery, Library and Museum; Cusworth Hall; City of Doncaster Archives

Salary details: Grade 6 - £13.68 - £14.12 per hour (Pay award pending)

Contract Type: Temporary Fixed Term to 31 December 2026

Hours: Minimum 6 hours per week – weekend working required

Closingdate: 22nd September 2026

We have an opportunity for you. Culture Services Officers play a key role in ensuring a high-quality visitor experience is delivered to every person who uses City of Doncaster libraries, museums, and heritage sites.

As the first point of contact in our arts and culture sites, you will provide accurate information and resources to all visitors, while engaging them with arts, literacy, learning and heritage. You will be required to carry out Fire Warden duties and prioritise the health and safety of visitors at all times, during very busy periods and quieter times.

You will have a positive and hands-on approach to the role and strive to always deliver excellent customer service.
