Job summary

Cherry is seeking a Chief Technology Officer to own the technology strategy, architecture, and infrastructure across our AI research group. This is a senior, highly technical role reporting to the Founder & CEO and guiding the VP Engineering who runs day-to-day delivery.

Qualifications

• Senior technology leadership in a high-growth tech company.
• Deep expertise in distributed systems, cloud infrastructure and large-scale platform design.
• Strong grasp of modern AI infrastructure and what it takes to deploy advanced AI in production.
• Experience running shared platforms that serve several products or customer environments.
• A track record of leading senior engineering leaders and building high-performing teams.
• Strong commercial judgement on technology economics and capital allocation.

Responsibilities

• Define and own technology strategy across all businesses and advise the CEO on major technical decisions.
• Design shared, scalable infrastructure across cloud, hybrid, sovereign and on-prem deployments.
• Partner with the Chief Scientist to productionize breakthroughs including models, knowledge graphs and autonomous capabilities.
• Own group-wide security, resilience, and governance standards for enterprise-grade compliance.
• Hire, mentor and oversee the VP Engineering and build a scalable engineering organization.
• Manage cloud, compute and inference costs; make build-versus-buy decisions and select partners.
• Contribute to company strategy, fundraising and represent the company to partners, customers and investors.
