Job summary

TAG Software Group is recruiting a Chief Technology Officer for a UK software business with a long track record and dominant market position. The CTO will oversee product engineering, QA, DevOps, data and infrastructure, balancing hands-on work in a small elite squad with leadership over a large on-going engineering effort.

The role includes stabilizing the current on-prem estate, building a next-generation cloud platform, and migrating customers while preserving NHS integrations and compliance.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software engineering, with 4+ years guiding teams.
• Experience leading large on-premises estates and cloud migrations.
• Proven ability to review architecture and steer major incidents while enabling a lean, AI-first platform.

Responsibilities

• Run and stabilize the current estate with a 20+ person production team.
• Lead the rebuild of the next-generation cloud platform with an AI-first approach.
• Own migration strategy from on-premises to cloud, coordinating data moves and NHS integrations.
