Job summary

Resident Advisor in London seeks a CTO-level engineering leader to own Engineering, DevOps, Core Platform and Apps. You will shape multi-year architecture, balance speed and reliability, and partner with the Chief Platform Officer to align product direction with engineering delivery.

You will inherit a capable team amid a major modernization, lead AI-driven improvements, scale payments and ensure security while maintaining a vibrant, London-based HQ.

Qualifications

• Proven track record leading engineering teams.
• Experience with high-traffic platforms and payments.
• Demonstrated AI adoption in software delivery.

Responsibilities

• Own engineering delivery across web, mobile and core platform.
• Own the technical architecture and the multi-year plan for it.
• Own reliability, performance and security, with ticketing and payments.
• Own the technical side of payments: gateway integrations, pay-in and pay-out infrastructure, fraud tooling.
• Own developer effectiveness and set the risk model for shipping.
• Build AI into how RA engineers, across tooling, code review, testing and delivery.
• Partner with the Chief Platform Officer on delivery planning, scoping, backlog readiness and technical trade-offs.
• Assess and develop the engineering leadership you inherit.
• Own build-versus-buy decisions and RA's technology spend.
• Set the engineering metrics that matter across delivery, reliability, incidents and developer effectiveness.
