James Lewis Recruitment is seeking a CSA Project Manager to lead the CSA package on a live Camberley data centre upgrade and expansion project. You will coordinate civil, structural and architectural works to ensure timely delivery around live services and client operations.

The role requires experience with data centre refurbishments, live-site planning, and managing subcontractors and specialist suppliers.

CSA Project Manager

Camberley | Data Centre | Contract or PAYE

£450 - £525 a day or £75,000 - £90,000 + package

If you're a CSA Project Manager who understands data centre refurbishment, upgrade works and live critical environments, this is a role where your planning will matter.

You’ll be working on a live Camberley data centre project, supporting the upgrade and expansion of an existing operational facility. The work is expected to involve new data hall areas, refurbishment works, structural alterations, builders' works, penetrations, fire stopping, access routes, plant support, external works, logistics interfaces and the architectural finish needed to bring critical spaces up to standard.

This is not a straightforward shell and core job. The site is already operational, so the CSA works need to be planned around access restrictions, live services, client operations, security procedures, permits and the wider MEP programme.

The role

You’ll take responsibility for managing the CSA package across the project, making sure civil, structural and architectural works are properly planned, coordinated, delivered and closed out.

That means working closely with the MEP project team, supervisors, subcontractors, design team, client-side representatives and specialist suppliers to make sure the building fabric supports the technical installation rather than holding it up.

You’ll need to understand how CSA works affect a live data centre project. Openings, risers, slab works, roof works, fire stopping, doors, walls, finishes, access routes and plant support all need to be right before the mechanical and electrical teams can complete their works properly.

• Managing architectural works including partitions, doors, finishes, ceilings, raised floors, fire stopping and clean room / white space readiness.
• Coordinating civil works, external works, access routes, logistics areas, drainage interfaces and plant support requirements.
• Working closely with mechanical and electrical teams to make sure CSA works are sequenced around the MEP installation.
• Managing subcontractors, supervisors and specialist suppliers across live and controlled work areas.
• Reviewing drawings, technical submissions, RFIs, RAMS, inspection records, QA documents and handover information.
• Planning works around live services, security procedures, permits, restricted access and operational areas.
• Managing programme, short-term lookaheads, progress reporting, risk, snagging and close-out.
• Making sure all works are delivered safely, to specification and in line with client requirements.
• Supporting commissioning and handover by making sure rooms, routes, openings, fire stopping, finishes and access requirements are complete.

What you'll need

• You’ll need experience managing CSA packages within data centres, critical environments, commercial fit-out, industrial projects, major refurbishments, infrastructure or technically demanding construction schemes.
• Data centre experience would be a strong advantage, especially if you have worked on live site upgrades, data hall fit-out, white space readiness, structural openings, fire stopping, raised floors, plant support or MEP-heavy environments.
• You should understand how CSA works interface with mechanical, electrical, commissioning, logistics and client operational requirements.
• You’ll need to be confident managing subcontractors, reading drawings, tracking progress, closing out QA and dealing with design or site issues before they affect programme.
• Experience working around permit systems, live environments, security procedures, shutdowns, restricted access and staged handovers would be useful.
• A background in construction management, civil engineering, structural works, architectural fit-out or main contracting would all be relevant.

You can look ahead, understand what the MEP teams will need from the building fabric and make sure the CSA works are finished before they become a blocker.

You do not wait for problems to land in the weekly meeting. You walk the job, identify what is missing and push the right people for answers.

You’ll suit this role if you have managed CSA works on complex construction projects and want to work in the data centre sector, where programme, coordination and quality are taken seriously.

This role can be taken on either a contract basis at £450 - £525 a day or as a PAYE position at £75,000 - £90,000 plus package.
