Job Description:

Overview

This role is within the Cryogenics Systems Team at Tokamak Energy, supporting the build and maintenance of cryogenics systems, including test cryostats and magnet system deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain cryogenic systems for HTS magnet technology
• Design and specify required equipment
• Assemble cryogenic systems, focusing on cryogenic-specific tasks like fitting MLI, insulation, making Stycast joints, and setting up vacuum pumps
• Operate and maintain cryogenic systems using cryocoolers, compressors, and Liquid Nitrogen systems
• Participate in safety reviews and risk assessments
• Collaborate with engineers, physicists, designers, and technicians to develop complex devices

Minimum Requirements

• Experience with cryogenic system build, maintenance, or operations
• Flexible, proactive, and problem-solving mindset
• Engineering Technician, IEng, or related degree or training
• Willingness to learn and adapt
• Self-organized, motivated, and committed to deadlines
• Strong communication skills and team collaboration abilities

Safety-critical duties
