Job summary

Morgan Jones Recruitment Consultants seeks an experienced Painter & Decorator to maintain and enhance college buildings across campuses. The role involves cross‑site work, travel between Rotherham and Worksop, and flexibility for evenings and weekends to support ongoing projects.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in painting and decorating.
• Recognised industry qualification (NVQ or equivalent).
• Full, clean driving licence.
• Knowledge of health and safety compliance.
• Organised, methodical and able to manage competing priorities.
• Strong communication and team‑working skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding, equality and data protection standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces through cleaning, sanding, filling and removal of old coverings.
• Apply paints, varnishes, stains and protective coatings to internal and external surfaces.
• Install internal and external vinyl coverings.
• Work with Marketing to ensure correct branding, colours and finishes.
• Develop and manage a planned decorating schedule across campuses.
• Carry out planned maintenance tasks and respond to reactive repairs.
• Perform sealing and mastic work in bathrooms, kitchens and other areas.
• Assist with general maintenance tasks such as exam room setups or furniture moves.
• Comply with COSHH and health & safety regulations.
• Work safely at height with scaffolding or platforms when required.
