Qualifications

  • Experience in patient transport, ambulance services, or related healthcare support roles is beneficial.
  • Understanding of basic health and safety, moving and handling techniques, and infection-control practices.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure, show empathy, and maintain professionalism in challenging situations.
  • Valid driving licence with a safe driving record; experience with larger vehicles or ambulances is an advantage.
  • Willingness to work shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, as service demands require.

Responsibilities

  • Safely transport patients to and from healthcare facilities and approved locations.
  • Assist patients in and out of vehicles, ensuring comfort and dignity during journeys.
  • Follow safety and infection-control protocols in all transports.
  • Coordinate with clinical teams, control room staff, and other transport professionals to plan routes and meet schedules.
  • Perform vehicle checks and basic equipment care; complete documentation clearly.
  • Communicate with patients, families, and colleagues to convey changes and updates.
