Job summary

First Option Healthcare is recruiting compassionate Crisis Support Workers to join our expanding team. You will work one-on-one with adults and adolescents in regulated and unregulated environments, providing immediate crisis intervention and emotional support.

The role requires at least 6 months of experience in mental health or related care, and you will collaborate with clinicians to develop safe intervention plans and document changes in client condition.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months experience working with adults or adolescents.
• Experience in crisis support or mental health settings preferred.
• Ability to de-escalate and provide immediate emotional support.

Responsibilities

• Respond to psychological or emotional crisis in adults and adolescents, using de-escalation techniques and intervention strategies.
• Provide in-person crisis support in homes, schools, hospitals, or community centres, fostering placements and unregulated settings.
• Establish rapport and trust with clients and families to assess risk, stabilise crisis situations, and ensure immediate safety and emotional support.
• Collaborate with clinical leads and multidisciplinary teams to ensure intervention plans are appropriate, with timely documentation and escalation of any changes in client condition or behaviour.
• Work with professionals such as schools, young offending and psychotherapy.
