Job summary

First Option Healthcare is recruiting compassionate crisis support workers to join our growing team in the UK. You will provide in-person crisis support to adults and adolescents in homes, schools, hospitals, and community centres, building trust and ensuring immediate safety.

Applicants should have at least 6 months of experience working with the listed conditions (Eating Disorders, Learning Disabilities, Mental Health, CSE, Drug and Alcohol Abuse) and be proficient in de‑escalation techniques

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months experience working with adults or adolescents with the listed conditions (Eating Disorders, Learning Disabilities, Mental Health, CSE, Drug and Alcohol Abuse).
• Experience in crisis support and risk assessment is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Respond to psychological or emotional crisis in adults and adolescents using de-escalation techniques.
• Provide in-person crisis support in homes, schools, hospitals, or community centres.
• Establish rapport and assess risk, stabilise crisis situations, and provide emotional support.
• Collaborate with clinical leads and multidisciplinary teams with timely documentation and escalation of changes in client condition or behaviour.
• Work with professionals such as schools, young offender services and psychotherapy.

We are looking for Support Workers with minimum of 6 months experience working with adults or adolescents with the following:

Duties and responsibilities:

Responding to psychological or emotional crisis in adults and adolescents, utilising de-escalation techniques and intervention strategies.

Providing in-person crisis support in various settings, including homes, schools, hospitals, or community centres, fostering placements and unregulated settings.

Establishing rapport and trust with clients and their families to assess risk, stabilise crisis situations, and ensure immediate safety and emotional support.

Collaborating with clinical leads and multidisciplinary teams to ensure intervention plans are appropriate, with timely documentation and escalation of any changes in client condition or behaviour.

Working with professionals such as schools, young offending and psychotherapy.
