Job summary

First Option Healthcare is recruiting compassionate Crisis Support Workers to join the expanding team in Chelmsford. You will provide one‑to‑one crisis support in homes, schools, hospitals, and community settings, with a focus on safeguarding and immediate emotional support.

Ideal candidates bring at least 6 months of relevant experience, demonstrate de‑escalation skills and strong communication, and are comfortable working in regulated and unregulated environments. Weekly payments.

Qualifications

• 6 months minimum experience with adults or adolescents in a care or support setting.
• Experience with eating disorders, learning disabilities, mental health, substance issues.
• Ability to work in regulated and unregulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Respond to psychological or emotional crises in adults and adolescents, using de-escalation techniques.
• Provide in-person crisis support at homes, schools, hospitals, or community centres.
• Establish rapport to assess risk, stabilise crises, and ensure safety.
• Collaborate with clinical leads and multidisciplinary teams, document changes and escalate as needed.
• Work with schools, young offender services, and psychotherapy professionals.

Here at FOH we have got a great opportunity to work one on one with patients in regulated and unregulated environments.

We are looking for Support Workers with minimum of 6 months experience working with adults or adolescents with the following:

• Eating Disorders
• Learning Disabilities
• Mental Health
• CSE
• Drug and Alcohol Abuse

Duties and responsibilities:

• Responding to psychological or emotional crisis in adults and adolescents, utilising de-escalation techniques and intervention strategies.
• Providing in-person crisis support in various settings, including homes, schools, hospitals, or community centres, fostering placements and unregulated settings.
• Establishing rapport and trust with clients and their families to assess risk, stabilise crisis situations, and ensure immediate safety and emotional support.
• Collaborating with clinical leads and multidisciplinary teams to ensure intervention plans are appropriate, with timely documentation and escalation of any changes in client condition or behaviour.
• Working with professionals such as schools, young offending and psychotherapy.
