Criminal Solicitor Stafford

Salary : £45,000 £55,000 DOE

Hours : Mon -Fri, 9am5pm (part-time / flexible considered)

The Role

Our client, a respected criminal law firm in Stafford, is seeking a Criminal Duty Solicitor to join their team. You will manage your own caseload, representing clients at police stations, Magistrates Courts, and assisting in Crown Court matters. The firm values proactive client care, strong advocacy, and excellent organisation. Duty accreditation is essential.

Key Responsibilities

Represent clients at police stations, Magistrates Courts, and assist in Crown Court matters.

Attend duty appointments and provide advice and representation to legal aid and private clients.

Prepare and manage criminal case files from instruction to conclusion.

Draft legal documents, correspondence, and case summaries.

Provide practical legal advice to clients across a range of criminal law matters.

Liaise with counsel, police, CPS, court staff, and other professionals.

Maintain compliance with professional and regulatory obligations.

Requirements

Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) with current duty solicitor accreditation

Minimum 3 years PQE in criminal law

Experience in Magistrates and Crown Court matters

Strong advocacy, drafting, and organisational skills
