Job summary

Sussex Police is seeking a Police staff CRIA to join the Local Policing Service Improvement and Engagement Department. You will assess data quality, ensure compliance with counting rules, and support crime recording across the force. Training is provided and flexible working may be available.

The role requires the ability to work with minimal supervision, handle complex data, and meet deadlines in a busy environment, with a commitment to public safety in Haywards Heath and surrounding areas.

Qualifications

• Good IT skills with experience of Microsoft Office.
• Excellent organisation and communication skills.
• The ability to work in a busy environment unsupervised and be able to prioritise work effectively.

Responsibilities

• Assess the quality of data and compliance of investigations with Home Office Counting Rules, National Crime Recording Standards, National Standard for incident recording and other relevant legislation.
• CRIA staff review and validate crimes and crime-related occurrences created by officers and staff across the Force.
• Record appropriately under the National Crime Recording Standards in a timely manner and liaise with officers to ensure compliance and data quality.
