Job summary

BT Group is hiring a Credit Risk Controls Specialist to define, govern and continuously improve the credit risk control framework across acquisition and in‑life journeys. You will ensure robust controls, risk identification and regulatory compliance while collaborating with Compliance, Audit, Legal and operations.

The role emphasizes control design, governance, and incident management within a fast‑paced, data‑driven environment, with hybrid working at multiple British locations.

Qualifications

• Strong experience of credit risk and control frameworks within a regulated environment.
• Proven experience managing control assurance activities, incidents or risk events, including root‑cause analysis, remediation tracking and supporting audit or regulatory reviews.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills with cross‑functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the AILR credit risk control framework across acquisition and in‑life customer journeys.
• Oversee governance of model risk and decisioning controls, ensuring robust documentation, monitoring, traceability and auditability of credit decisions and outcomes.
• Lead risk and control assessments to identify exposures and ensure controls are designed, implemented and operating effectively.
• Partner with AILR and wider stakeholders to embed controls into policy design and operational processes, supporting transformation initiatives.
• Produce clear management information on control performance and risk exposures to inform senior decision‑making.
