Job summary

SMT Recruitment is seeking a proactive Credit Risk Analyst in Hertfordshire to join an established global organisation. You will analyze customer portfolios and financial histories, monitor credit exposure, and support decision-making through timely reports and KPI dashboards.

The role emphasizes using Excel, BI tools and automation to enhance reporting and processes, working closely with Finance and other teams to drive risk-aware commercial insights.

Qualifications

• Degree in Finance, Economics, Business or related field is ideal.
• Around 1–2 years’ experience within Finance, Credit, Risk or an analytical role.
• Strong Excel and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Commercially minded, inquisitive and confident working with numbers.
• Keen to learn and develop within Credit Risk.

Responsibilities

• Analyse customer portfolios, financial information and payment history.
• Monitor credit exposure and identify changes or potential risks.
• Produce reports, KPIs and analyses to support business decisions.
• Leverage Excel, BI and technology to improve reporting and processes.
• Collaborate with Finance and wider business colleagues.
• Support ongoing improvements within the Credit Risk function.
