Job summary

Quality Personnel Services Limited in Milton Keynes is seeking an experienced Credit Controller for a temporary 8–12 week assignment. You will manage an assigned portfolio, chase overdue payments, negotiate plans and maintain accurate debt positions.

You will work closely with the Financial Controller, develop credit control skills, and support ad-hoc finance projects. Office-based role with strong emphasis on customer communication.

Qualifications

• Experience in Credit Control, Accounts Receivable or similar finance role.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Attention to detail with high accuracy.
• Proactive debt management and negotiation skills.
• Ability to prioritise and adapt to workload.

Responsibilities

• Manage an assigned portfolio and control/collect outstanding debt.
• Contact customers by phone, email and letter to negotiate payments.
• Negotiate payment plans and arrange repayments.
• Reconcile customer accounts to establish debt positions.
• Place accounts on hold if credit limits are exceeded.
• Allocate customer payments accurately.
• Respond to customer queries promptly and professionally.
• Investigate invoice discrepancies and communicate corrections.
• Conduct credit reviews and recommend credit limits.
• Advise Customer Service and Order Processing on credit matters.
• Communicate bad debt information to clients and work on repayment plans.
• Process credit memos accurately and timely.
• Manage cash allocation and lockbox activities.
• Review holds daily and release as appropriate.
• Set up new customer accounts with complete information.
• Provide cover for colleagues and assist finance projects.
